How history becomes an impression: the Borodino Battle Museum Panorama rebranding project
Brand: The Borodino Battle Museum Panorama
The project’s purpose: The Borodino Battle Museum Panorama has long become from a museum in the object of culture, where you can touch the history and obtain new knowledge in the now popular format of edutainment. So, the task was to reflect this in visual communications.
What has been done: We have developed the Museum Panorama’s brand platform, brand style, website design, layouts for advertising and informational materials and souvenir products.
The site where history becomes an impression – this phrase is the best one to illustrate the gist of the brand, and we sought to reflect this perception of the Museum complex in its new brand identity. At the same time, the essential source of inspiration for us was, of course, the grandiose painting “The Borodino” by Franz Roubaud, the museum’s key exhibit item.
Rebranding results: It is possible to assess the new style both inside the museum and online, as the new accessible and intuitive website, developed by Charsky studio as well, can be entered at this link.
"The new visual concept proposed by the Studio was created taking into account the mission, the values and the main trends of development that our Museum has chosen for itself for the coming years. We try to convey to the contemporary people not dull "pure facts", but a three-dimensional spectacular image of both the Borodino Battle and the entire 1812 era in Russia.
In our opinion, the designers of Charsky studio, managed to cope with a difficult task — to combine modernity and tradition, the artistic phenomenon of the panoramic painting and the image of the 1812 Patriotic War", — says Vladimir Presnov, Director of the Borodino Battle Museum Panorama.
